Wolf Spell by M.R. Polish

With a death starts a new beginning...

Eighteen-year-old Esmerelda thinks she’s just a normal girl, but all of that changes the day of her mom’s funeral, when a warlock, intent on using her special powers, kidnaps her. Powers she didn’t know existed. Thrown in the middle of a magical battle, Es struggles to learn her magic while fleeing both vampires and warlocks, at the same time, hunting for the witches that can help defeat her adversary. The only problem is that they are dead.

Thankfully, she has the help of Jarak—her Guardian—who quickly captures her heart, but she wonders if she can win his? Just when she thinks Jarak is the one for her, Ian appears with daggers drawn to save Es from a vampire attack. Ian is cocky and rude, but there is something magnetic about him—something that attracts her to him. With her heart torn between two men, she faces the foes that are out for her blood. Can Es do the unthinkable and awaken them from their graves before time runs out?

Interview with author Melissa Lummis

I got to interview author Melissa Lummis! She is probably one of the nicest people on the planet, and I'm blessed that I get to call her friend. Hope you enjoy our interview.

1. What made you start writing?
I've been writing one thing or another for as long as I can remember. In 1st grade I wrote a paper about turning 6 years old. I was so excited when I wrote about not being 5 any more and how perfect .it was to be 6. When I got it  back from my teacher, she had written "you're going to be a writer one day." I gave my mom a funny look and said, "what does she mean? I'm all ready a writer."

2. What's next on your tbr pile?
Believe it or not, a book called Permission Marketing that I read about in a presentation by Ian Rogers. He's the founder of the website Topspin.  He is starting a marketing revolution for independent artists and it makes so much sense.  He mentioned this book and I immediately downloaded it. Of course, I have to finish reading Coveted by Stephanie Nelson first.

3. Salty or sweet?
Salty.  I love potato chips and cheese and pickles.  I will skip chocolate chip cookies for some chips and salsa every time.

4.  if you had to listen to one song forever, what would it be?
Tough one.  I'm having a hard time deciding between Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie and Breakin' a Sweat by Skrillex.  Do I have to choose?

5. Which of your characters was the easiest for you to write?
Fiamette. She has attitude and her personality just burst into my mind like a fireworks display.  The hardest thing about writing her was keeping her from dominating whatever scene she was in.

6. What is next for you?
First, I'm taking time off from writing and rethinking my approach to promoting.  I want to reach out to my readers in a more personal way and make real connections.  How do you do that and still have time for your family?  Second, I'm writing the rest of the Love and Light story.  Samskaras is almost done and Samadhi is worked out, too.  I'm so excited about this trilogy and I'm hoping to have it completed and publishes by Christmas of 2013.

Oooohey, am I excited to read the rest of the series! i loved book 1, and I'm sure I'll be pestering her until she finishes them.

Loti Dupree fears that when her husband died, she lost her soul. Harboring a painful secret, she flees her life in a small Appalachian town for the ashram, the spiritual retreat where she trained to be a yogini. But she is running from more than grief. Elena Dillon Interview

Hey all, I interviewed author Elena's what she had to say.

1. What made you decide to write?
I’ve been writing since I was a kid but I never showed anyone any of my stories. I was always to self conscious. When my daughter went off to college I had more time on my hands and this story was pretty loud in my head so I decided to write it down. It took me two years to finish it. I had never finished anything like this before. I told my family I wrote a book and they were shocked. I never told any of them that I wrote before and then I just said “I wrote a book.”  They were floored.

2. Who is your favorite author?
I have many.  But I have to say JK Rowling is my overall favorite. Her world building is amazing to me. She also creates these characters and this story that you can’t help but love.  I used to read Stephen King when I was growing up but he is too scary for me now that I have kids. The real world is scary enough without falling asleep with all that in my head.

3. What genre is your favorite to read?
Of course I love romance and YA but I am a pretty eclectic reader. It definitely depends on my mood. I read tons of nonfiction. Mostly about writing and marketing. I’m a bit of a tech geek. I love that stuff. I find it hard to read fiction when I am writing because I get lazy and it distracts me from the story. I just want to lay around and read when I start a good book.  I have to be careful what I start reading when I am writing.

4. Do you have a writing playlist?
Nope.  I need silence to write. I am ADD and I get too distracted by lyrics.  I find music doesn’t always suit the scene I am writing if it is instrumental. I listen to classical in the car when I am working out a scene or a plot point though and that helps.

5.  If you could cast anyone to play your characters in a movie who would you cast?
I’m not really sure about this. I don’t really think of them that way. When people ask me this I always feel like I wouldn’t ever be satisfied because they are who they are to me. Not actors.  I’m  sure if that ever happened someone much more qualified than me would make a good choice. Lol.

6. What is your favorite type of candy?
Well I don’t eat chocolate or anything with peanuts because I’m allergic and it’s not a pretty sight. I do like hard candy. I just found this candy store near me that makes this amazing hard candy right in front of you. So far I like the mango/pineapple. Yummy!

7. If you couldn’t write what would you want to do?
I’ve been a travel agent for the last six years and I was one before I had kids also so I would probably just continue with that. I love to travel and helping people plan their vacations is fun too.  I like booking travel  but I love writing.

8. Tell us something people would find surprising about you?
I am a total nerd.  I love Superheroes, Sherlock, Star Wars and The Princess Bride.  I would rather get a new gadget for a gift than jewelry or clothes and if you give me a set of instructions I do a pretty good job of putting stuff together. Yup.  Nerd girl for sure.

9. Tell us a little bit about Breathe.
Well it’s a YA Romantic Suspense about Jasmine, a sixteen year old girl, whose sister was murdered by a serial killer. The story starts two years after her sister’s death.  The killer was never caught. The family has decided to move to Lafayette, Louisiana to start over.  Things are going well when the hottest guy in school likes her and she has made some nice new friends. Unfortunately creepy things start happening. Texts, phone calls, Flowers in her locker and she starts to wonder if the killer is after her now.

10. What’s next for you?
I have just finished the first draft of my next book.  It’s a new YA story that takes place on an island off near Charleston, SC.  Another Romantic Suspense but no name yet!  I plan to publish it in March.

Breathe Release Extravaganza

Jasmine’s life wasn’t normal for a 16 year old girl.  It hadn’t been normal since the murder of her older sister, Daisy, two years ago. Her life had been changed forever. The monster that murdered Daisy was never caught.  That was the reason her family decided to move away from their hometown in Southern California, to start over.  Hopefully in a place where the last name Rourke wouldn’t bring on staring or judgment or morbid curiosity.

In Lafayette, Louisiana things are quite a bit different but in a good way.  Good manners, Cajun accents and a whole lot of Southern Hospitality all make her think things are going in the right direction.  On top of that the most gorgeous boy she has ever met is interested in her. Her new friends are better than she could have hoped for even if she is worried about what they might think when they find out who she is.  Life would be perfect if odd things didn’t keep happening.  Creepy phone calls, texts, and flowers in her locker start adding up quickly to something terrifying. Could the Monster have followed them to Lafayette? Was he coming after her this time?  Maybe she was just worrying unnecessarily…or not.

Join the event!! We're celebrating from 10-6 pst on Friday December 14th!! There will be tons of fun games and prizes the whole day, you won't want to miss it.
